Benjamin 132

I've been looking for a Benjamin 132 air pistol to add to my collection for several months. It's not that they are hard to find, it's just that the timing hasn't worked out so that I found one when I actually had cash in hand. Recently, another frequent poster at the Crosman Airgun Forum had one that he agreed to sell.

It came without a rear site adjustment screw, which was a disappointing surprise. When I looked around my parts box, I found I had a screw that fit, from my Benjamin 397 rear site, which I didn't need because my 397 now wears a Williams peep site. The catch was, it was too long. After a few minutes in the shop, I had ground it down to length, cut a new screw driver slot and re-blued it. It fits perfectly.

I spent some time sighting the pistol in, but found that the trigger pull is atrocious - heavy and rough. I had an extra trigger shoe from a paintball gun in my parts box too. After installing it, I found that it made the trigger pull feel a bit lighter, though it's still rough. Nonetheless, I shot a half inch groups at 20 feet (the length of my garage) using an isosceles hold, so I guess I'm pretty happy with the pistol. I may still sell it, however. If I don't, then a trigger job is the next project for this gun.
